Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a Bedford RL 4 x 4 vhich was purchased from the Army and it vill soon be three years since it was first egistered. It is run on an ordinary L-25 icence. Could you tell me what the position s regarding:

1) Plating—(or does it merely need an Vlor car test?) 2) Drivers' hours and keeping logs and ecords?

3) Hgv licences for the drivers of the vehicle —for would an ordinary Group 1 licence still .uffice21

As the vehicle obviously weighs more than 30cwt unladen, it has to be plated and ested under the MoT goods vehicle testing cheme. If the vehicle was first registered about he middle of 1967 then it should have been asted by the end of the month following its egistration month last year, eg if it was agistered in June 1967 it should have been asted by July 31 1969. It is illegal to operate le vehicle if it was not tested when due.

Provided the vehicle is not driven by any one river for more than four hours in any period

f 24 hours on each day of a working week. le driver concerned is completely exempt .om working hours and rest period limitations )r. that week.

Records are not required to be kept by a river who does not drive on a public road for lore than four hours in a working day so long s he does not drive outside a radius of 25 -tiles from the operating centre.

If the vehicle weighs more than 3 tons nladen then all drivers of the vehicle will !quire a Class 3 hgv drivers licence when leir existing ordinary Group 1 licence expires he ordinary licence will also have to be mewed, of course).
