Butcher succeeds Mr Griffiths on the boards of Devon General. Western National and Greenslades Tours. Mr Ellis becomes managing director of Devon General and Greenslades, although R. N. Sampson, general manager of Greenslades, continues to be responsible for the day to day operations of the company. The board of Black and White has been re-constituted with three members only—Mr Robinson (chairman). Mr Butcher and J. W. Woman W. Leese, general manager of Ribble Motor Services replaces H. L. Ellis, general manager of Western National, on the boards of London Coastal Coaches and Samuelson from September 1. Mr Leese has been general manager of Ribble since 1968. a company active in the travel agency field under its own name and under the name of its subsidiary Phythian.

W. Fergusson has been appointed by Alcan Research and Development Ltd, Banbury, to co-ordinate research for the building and transport industries. Mr Fergusson's appointment is one of several staff changes intended to assist the quicker industrial

application of research findings.

F. E. Dark has been appointed a director of Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co Ltd and Amalgamated Passenger Transport Ltd, in succession to D. R. Vernon.

John Cooper, a former general manager of Leicester City Transport who after three years spent in re-organizing the transport services in Trinidad and Tobago came back to this

country a few months ago, has now been appointed technical adviser to the general manager of the Tehran United Bus Company, which has over 2.300 buses in its fleet.

Charles Pinson has been appointed as manager, manufacturing engineering in the motor division of Rubery Owen and Co Ltd, Darlaston. Mr Pinson has held a number of senior appointments in the company. Barry Wootton, 36,

for years manager of Edro Ltd, joins RO as tooling manager of the motor division.

Ernie Osborne has joined the Tudor Accessories Motor Division as sales representative in the London and Home Counties area. Prior to joining Tudor he was a sales promotion representative for Hermetite Products Ltd.

J. W. N. Armstrong, for several years psv accounts manager for Small and Parkes Ltd, is to relinquish this responsibility and will now fulfil special duties until his retirement. Mr Armstrong is succeeded by D. J. Sanders as national accounts manager. Mr Sanders joined the company's psv division at the end of 1968, and is responsible for both psv accounts and national transport undertakings. A further appointment is that of J. W. Lowe, formerly the Midland area manager, who will assist Mr Sanders in the Midlands and South Wales areas.

Kendall F. Hobson has been promoted from general sales manager to director and general manager of T. Shipside Ltd, the Nottingham vehicle distributor. Wally P. Smith, 28, commercial depot manager at Clifton Bridge, also joins the board. A. T. Kevan Murray. retires from the position of managing directoi but continues as director until June 1971 J. B. Joly, a director, makes up the nev management team.

R. E. Forster has been appointed managing director of Bernard Wardle (Everflex) Ltd ir succession to J. T. Mills who has resigned tc take up another appointment. Mr Forstei remains a member of the Bernard Wardlt group board.
