Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• One of the exhibits on the stand of Bristol Commercial Vehicles Ltd at Earls Court will be an RELL single-decker, which will be fitted with the horizontal version of the Leyland 500 fixed-head diesel engine. It will be the first Bristol bus to be fitted with this engine; otherwise the vehicle will follow normal RELL specification.

The engine will be naturally aspirated, with an output of 150 bhp at 2200 rpm, and will drive forward over the rear axle to a four-speed epicyclic gearbox set for fully automatic operation. Rear axle ratio will be 4,45:1. Suspension will be of the standard leaf spring type, and the bus will be fitted with 10-22.5 Firestone tyres. It will have a wheelbase of I8ft 6in. and an overall length of 36ft 5in.

Designed for o-m-o, the BELL will be fitted with a front entrance and central exit body by Eastern Coach Works Ltd, seating 44 passengers, and will be finished to the requirements of the Bristol Omnibus Co Ltd, with whom it will enter service after the Show.
