• Specialist paint manufacturer Joseph Mason and Co Ltd, of Nottingham Road, Derby, wants to reward the lorry driver who left without leaving his name after calling the Derby Fire Brigade to a blaze on the company's plant early on August 20.
A mystery explosion started the fire; total damage was estimated at about £30,000. "Happily, no one was injured," said Mr Peter Ayre, chairman, "and the fire was confined to a very small area. This is due to the excellent work of the Derby firemen, and the quick action of the anonymous lorry driver who gave the alarm. We would like to trace him and give him a reward."
