FHIRTY of 90 Leyland Titan PD.2/20 ,double-decker chassis ordered by .iverpool Transport Department arc to ave full-fronted engine compartments rrtilar to those of 100 recently suplied to the Birmingham and Midland fotor Omnibus Co., Ltd.
The compartment is designed to form art of the body strocture, but is ternorarily fixed to the chassis for the elivery run from Leyland to the odybuilders, W. Alexander and Co. 2oachbuilders), Ltd., Stirling. They antilever the compartment from the odywork.
A large spring-balanced bonnet gives asy access to the engine, and a working latforrn, for fitters attending to minor :pairs, is built inside the bonnet over le near-side wheel-arch.
The bodywork of the other 60 chides for Liverpool. will be built by fetropolitan-Cammell-Weymann, Ltd., the normal style.
