Department will be seriously challenged by British Railways, who are to introduce widespread alterations in services which may lead to intensive competition between trains and municipal trolleybus services.
No official announcement has been made by the Railway Executive, but The Commercial Motor learns that "timed interval services" are to be introduced on three of the principal routes serving the southern outskirts of the city. Train services would be timed on the same basis as trolleybus facilities.
