1VE appeals concerning passenger services have been rejected by the
nister of Transport. Four were jections to the grant of licences, and e was against the refusal of a licence. Premier Travel, Ltd.. appealed iinst the grant to the Eastern unties Omnibus Co., Ltd., by the stern Licensing Authority of permison to operate additional services on turdays from Southend to Cambridge d from Felixstowe to Cambridge. They have been told by the Minister it whilst it might be held that the ithority was not justified in making
variations appealed against without ing the appellants an opportunity to velop their objections at a public sitg, he does not consider that their case the appeal inquiry showed that the tthority's decision was wrong.
The licences in question will expire November 30 this year. The inister's decision does not prejudice the full reconsideration of the position by the Authority if Eastern Counties apply for new licences.
Appeals by -Wessex Coaches, Ltd., and Primrose Motor Coaches (Bristol), Ltd., against the Western Licensing Authority's grant to Western Engineering and Motor Services, Ltd., to operate a new group of excursions and tours from Bristol, have been rejected by the Minister. The appeals were heard by Mr. R. L. H. Hiscott at Bristol in June.
Wilmslow Urban District Council's appeal against the grant by the NorthWestern Licensing Authority of a licence to the North-Western Road Car Co., Ltd., to operate a new stage service from Handforth to Styal, has been dismissed with costs.
The appeal of Star Coaches against the refusal of the Yorkshire Licensing Authority to grant them licences for excursions and tours from Slaithwaite, has also been rejected. •
