Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of its Abingdon customer service operation on the government's decision to cut the grants for the fitting of emissions control equipment.

The closure will cost 18 jobs at Abingdon and another four at the company's Gainsborough HQ.

"This is not a decision we take lightly,"says Eminox general manager Paul Priestly. "But the substantial reduction in government grant was unforeseen and came about with very little notice. It has, not surprisingly, led many UK operators to decide they will not fit emission control equipment, which means our UK market has declined considerably.

"Given the government has declared its commitment to clean air I am extremely disappointed, and rather surprised, that this problem has arisen at this time.

"The outcome of the grants decision is that we will be selling emission control equipment to customers in Europe, where we are putting additional resources but, regrettably, less so in the UK."
