• Container and trailer rental company Tiphook has won a Queen's Award for Export in a year when it has announced a 70% rise in profits and further acquisitions in Europe. "It reflects the progress made in Europe and the rest of the world since we were established in 1978," says chairman and founder Robert Montague.
Winners in the technology category include Hydraroll of Anglesey, for its slip chain and roller track system for power transfer of pallets, which is claimed to cut loading time for a 12-metre trailer from 40 to five minutes; and ICI, for its Aquabase automotive paint.
