Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Sales of Volvo DlOM and BlOM chassis-based double and single-deck buses are booming, and Volvo bus sales manager Mike Ball says demand for big buses is on the increase.

So far this year, registrations of big buses are up 40% and Volvo has an 18% share: "Minibus demand may have slowed down now but it has carved a nice niche for itself. The bus market is starting to settle down and Volvo hopes to sell 100% more big buses than last year by the end of 1988," says Ball.

Volvo DlOM chassis doubledeckers have been delivered to Nottingham City Transport (East Lanes body work). Derby City Transport (Northern Counties bodywork), and Bournemouth Transport (Walter Alexander R-type bodies). Two DlOMs with Walter Alexander bodies have also gone to Burnley and Pendle Transport, in recent months.

In addition the BlOM chassis has been specified by Burnley and Pendle for six singledeckers with Walter Alexander P-type bodies. Hutchison's Coaches of Overtown, Scotland, expects to take delivery of 10 Hestair Duple 300 buses based on the BlOM.
