Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PICKFORDS' BUSINESS and Industrial Division, part of the National Freight Consortium, is continuing its Elm acquisition programme to update and expand its heavy haulage vehicle fleet and specialist handling equipment.

In its second year of the programme, the Division is buying 21 new vehicles. These include nine Volvo Fl 2s at 64 tons three FlOs at 45 tons, three Fl 2s at 150 tons, two F12s at 50 tons and two Scammell S26 150 ton units.

Complementing these are two Volvo F12 rigids with hydraulic loader capacity of 32 tons and five tons respectively.

Commenting on the investment, divisional director Roger Payton said: "The purchases are part of an ongoing programme and our aim is to operate with purely new equipment to maximise efficiency.

"The new vehicles, with their lower running costs and greater flexibility, will help us to be more competitive and adaptable to the needs of our customers," he said.

Volvos were chosen for specification flexibility and reliability and a good back-up service, said Mr Payton.
