PLANS by the Department c Transport to reduce the age u to which three children ar allowed to occupy two seats a a school bus or coach have bee dropped.
It had been suggested tha lowering the age from 13 to 1. would allow for the average in crease in the size of children.
Research has shown that al though children are getting big ger they are not getting an, heavier.
The news is being welcome( by education authorities tha were worried that they woulc have to buy or hire moil vehicles but will disappoin coach operators that could haw found a useful addition to schoo contract business.
