NOEL INYNN has been elected an honorary member of the Road Haulage Association and received a certificate and badge at an executive board dinner in London last week.
Mr Wynn, who receives the RHA's highest accolade for outstanding service to the industry, was RHA national chairman from 1968-70 and has actively participated in RHA affairs since 1954.
From 1964-66 he was chairman of the South Wales area and later became chairman of the study group on co-operation which resulted in the formation of the National Tipping Service.
More recently, he was chairman of the working party which reported on phase two of the RHA reorganisation. He also served on the National Council from 1960-82 and was for many years a member of the executive board.
Mr Wynn started his career as a solicitor in 1947. After four years with a Cardiff firm of solicitors he joined the family business of Robert Wynn and Sons, heavy haulage specialists.
The company was sold to the United Transport Group in 1964 and Mr Wynn was promoted to assistant general manager. In 1971 he became general manager and retired from the company in 1982.
