• An order that would restrict all vehicles of 3 tons and over on any Birmingham City Centre roads is recommended to the city's public works committee by its road improvement and traffic sub-committee which asks that the town clerk should draw up the necessary prohibition. The only 3-tons-plus vehicles allowed in the area would be trucks making deliveries and collections and buses.
RHA Midland area secretary John Parnell commented: "I think this is quite reasonable. So long as collection and delivery is allowed there cannot really be any reason for objection".
