PRODUCTION of commercial vehicles in the five weeks ending April I averaged 7,246 a week-27 per cent fewer than in March 1966. But on, a seasonally adjusted basis, total production of commercial vehicles was 6 per cent higher than in February. This was due entirely to increased production for the home market.
The higher rate of production in March raised the total for the latest three months to just above the level for the preceding three months for the first time since June last year. Home market production rose 9 per cent while production for export dropped 8 per cent.
