RENAULT Trucks is warning small and medium sized operators to place orders for Euro-5 trucks now, to avoid disappointment.
Although the company is yet to experience a surge in demand for Euro-5, Renault Trucks’ commercial director Nigel Butler believes it will start any day now. He expects 2014 to be reminiscent of 2007/08 when lead times for most right-hand drive tractors exceeded 12 months.
“You only need a handful of the big operators to wake up and place orders, then lead times will go out,” he warns. “My advice for small operators is to get in first.”
