Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DRIVER lobbying the government to increase the speed limit for LGVs has been surprised by the support he has received.

Matt Downie has created an e-petition asking for trucks to be allowed to travel at up to 50mph on major A-roads, rather than the current 40mph. He said the law is dangerous, and forces LGV drivers to pull in so that frustrated motorists can overtake.

“I’m fed up with the constant hassle and grief from other road users if we do sit at 40mph, and the [dangerous] manoeuvres [they undertake] due to frustration,” Downie said. “The current speed limit doesn’t make sense. Nowadays, lorries have far more advanced braking systems than when this law was set. The frustration of drivers following a lorry at 40mph is unbelievable.” To date, the petition has attracted 143 signatures. It can be found at: epetitions.direct.gov.uk/ petitions/38003
