Sema Foods

SEmA FOODS has been granted authorisation for two vehicles at a unit on St Georges Industrial Estate in White Hart Lane, London, subject to undertakings: • all drivers’ records will be analysed and proper records kept; • drivers will attend a driver CPC course; • they will be trained in new procedures; • all records will be kept for at least two years; • the operator will arrange for an independent audit of maintenance systems to be carried out by the RHA/FTA or similar independent entity; • Sema will appoint a local tyre contractor to monitor and replace any defective or damaged tyres and report monthly on the vehicle tyres, tread depths and overall condition; • the irm will ensure that vehicles are serviced and inspected on time and all defects are rectiied prior to use.

• Sema will ensure the safe mechanical condition of vehicles by appointing a new local main dealer as primary maintenance contractor to carry out the servicing and major defect rectiications and a second local mobile mechanic to carry out safety inspections and minor defect rectiications; • Sema will monitor the work of the maintenance contractors, check every report sheet and submit vehicles for voluntary brake tests between every other service or safety inspection; • a compliant daily vehicle defect reporting system will be used and that system will be monitored and proper records kept.

JEWSON has applied for authorisation to have six vehicles at a site in York Way, Royston.

Fresh Direct (UK)

FRESH DIRECT (UK) wants to base 10 vehicles and two trailers at a facility in Hill House Farm, Hockering, Dereham.

Culina Logistics

CULINA LOGISTICS hopes to get the green light for 10 vehicles and 20 trailers at a site on the Tunnel Industrial Estate in Eastern Avenue, Grays. The company also wants permission for 10 vehicles and 10 trailers at the Erms UK site in Fenton Way, Chatteris.

CLANCY DOCWRA is looking for the go-ahead for 10 vehicles at the South East Water site in Copton, Faversham as well as 10 vehicles at a South East Water facility in Glas senbury Road, Cranbrook.

• On 1 October a PI will look at disciplinary action against Colchester-based Julian Green and consider the repute of the transport manager.

• Disciplinary action against C Britcliffe and Son, based in Gainsborough, and the transport manager’s repute will be considered on 8 October.

Eastbourne

• London-based Charlton Cash and Carry will lodge an application at a PI on 3 October.

• The TC will consider disciplinary action against Meridian Transport Services based in Dover and the transport manager’s repute on 4 October.

• A PI on 9 October will discuss disciplinary action against IH Toby (Hardware) based in Barking.

• A PI on 10 October will consider disciplinary action against Croydon-based KB Haulage.
