THE BPW STAND AT this year’s IAA was bristling with new innovations and product developments as the German giant demonstrated how it is broadening its market offering beyond brakes and axles.
A key part of that was the launch of its new trailer telematics system ECO Tronic Tcontrol, giving users information on trailer operating activity. Previously, BPW had relied on Haldex black box technology, but with the acquisition of German telematics provider Idem recently, BPW now has its own solution, giving leet operators a spread of information including trailer location, tyre pressures, fridge temperature and wear indicators.
The on-cost for the black box hardware is £800, while the monthly contracts for leet information range from £8 to £30 a month.
