As a highly successful commercial organisation, British Gas can offer some of the most challenging and rewarding career opportunities. Our Supplies and Transport Department is certainly no exception, where you'll be helping to operate a fleet of 2000 vehicles ranging from cars to 26 tonnes.

Essentially you will be responsible to the Fleet Engineer for a wide range of duties, covering every aspect of fleet and workshop operation including administration.

Qualified to HNOHND or equivalent in a relevant subject andlor City & Guilds craftsman certificates to technician level with administration and management experience, membership of an appropriate professional body would be a distinct advantage. You should have extensive knowledge of engineering and transport theory; a proven practical ability in vehicle inspection and quality audit; and you should be able to demonstrate from past experience your ability to manage a workshop facility and an understanding of bonus schemes. You will be an analytical problem solver capable of producing technical reports, and you should also be capable of tight budgetary control and the effective monitoring of expenditure.
