Group has appointed newly formed Allen Diagnostic Equipment (UK) to spearhead a move into local production and a major sales drive for computer-aided automotive diagnostic equipment in the UK.
The new company will handle sales and servicing for all Allen equipment, and will be centred on a 1,20Orn2 (13,000ft2) production office complex in Leicester. Initially, knock-down US produced modules will be assembled, although a growth in the UK sourced components is planned.
With a target for annual sales in excess of million by the year end, production should be running at the rate of more than 200 units per year and 20 new jobs will have been created.
Plans are already underway to launch a new generation of Allen Diagnostic Equipment — an operator training school is currently under construction, and production should take over from US imports by the end of the year.
