A DEVICE claimed to solve t problem of initial oil starvati of turbocharger bearings h been produced by Trans Euro Production Ltd, Gorse Lane dustrial Estate, Clacton-on-SE Known as the TEP2000, t pump provides an initial injE tion of oil to the turbocharg when activated by the ignitil key.
This initial charge of oil claimed to be enough to prevE dry bearing damage in the ea stages when the turbocharc can be operating at high spe before full mains oil pressL reaches the shaft.
Once normal oil pressure reached, the TEP2000 recharg and is ready for the next starti cycle.
Mounting of the pump is I, to the customer. Anywhere the engine compartment in vertical position would be sL able, but ideally as close as pc sible to the turbocharger.
The use of the device on nc engines is claimed not to all the engine manufacturer's wi ranty.
The TEP2000, which ci operate from a 12 or 24v systel costs under £100.
