THIS WEEK CM extends its news service by giving a weekly list of trunk roadworks which may delay commercial-vehicle operators on trunk journeys. It is being compiled with the assistance of the Automobile Association.

Scotland: M9 at Arngask, Perthshire, has repair work in progress.

Northern England: M1/M18. There are lane closures on both carriageways of the M1/M18 link road, and the M18 at Thurcroft Interchange, South Yorkshire (between junctions 31 and 33 of the M1).

Midlands: M6 southbound carriageway is closed completely between Keele services and junction 16 (Kidsgrove/Stoke North).

M45 has only one lane open westbound, but two eastbound, five miles west of the M1/M45 interchange in Northamptonshire.

Wales and the West: M50 has two-way traffic on the eastbound carriageway at Kempley. Gloucestershire, due to bridge repairs. There also are lane closures on the westbound carriageway at East Ledbury..

South-east England: Al. Reconstruction work on the Rowley Lane flyover on the Barnet bypass starts on September 29. It is likely that there will be about ten closures of one or both carriageways during the six month contract, but most will be confined to weekends.

Ml. Northbound entry to junction 4 (Edgware) is closed, as is the northbound carriageway as far as junction 5 (Watford). There are various lane closures between juncions 14 and 17. Work is due to start soon on widening the two-lane section between junctions five and eight. It will take three years to complete.

M4. Westbound carriageway closed 8am to 4pm between junctions 11 and 12. Single-line traffic in each direction to use the eastbound side.

M20 is still under repair between the A228 Rochester exit and the Nepicar roundabout at Wrotham. There are frequent delays.
