Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two more coaches are to be added to the range of models available in the United Kingdom, announced Mercedes-Benz (Great Britain) Ltd. last week. Claiming that the company possessed the first Certificate of Fitness granted to imported p.s.v. (for the 11-metre 0.302 coach) it has now announced the availability of a 12-metre version, which is on display in the demonstration part at Earls Court, together with a 16-seat "executive coach", the 0.309.

The 12-metre 0.302 is offered with a larger engine developing 230 bhp instead of the 185 bhp engine of the 36ft version on show inside Earls Court. It will not necessarily carry more passengers as many operators use the extra space to provide toilet and washing facilities.

MoT p.s.v. stability, turning circle and braking efficiency tests have already been completed successfully by the 0.309 16-seat coach and only a few minor modifications are needed before it will comply fully with British p.s.v. requirements. It is based on the L.406/L.408 commercial chassis and can be powered by either the 2.2-litre 65 bhp engine of the 220D passenger car or a 95 bhp petrol engine.
