• This week, IBM is demonstrating in London a unique mobile computing centre. A complete computing system, a number of scientific instruments and a miniature lecture theatre are contained in the trailer unit of a 55ft articulated vehicle.
The vehicle is owned, operated and driven by a Mr. Wally Barber, of Arizona, who is under contract to IBM for a three-month 3,500-mile tour , of Europe. The vehicle, a Peterbilt, has been specially built to haul sensitive electronic equipment. Its present load weighs 23,000lb.
