• Autodata, which exhibited at Automechanika for its seventh time, offers more than 30 publications in 13 languages, including Mandarin Chinese, sold in more than 50 countries.
As well as additions to its range of manuals on specialist subjects such as electronic ignition and fuel injection, it exhibited a prototype of its first electronic database product — a floppy disk of technical data for use with PCs installed in garages.
Its long established publications continue to dominate the market. Technical Data, the engine test and tune-up guide, is in its 15th year of publication and numbers among its customers diagnostics manufacturers Robert Bosch and Suntester. For the German market, Autodata has produced a CO Manual for use by official exhaust emission testing stations.
Autodata Technical Services, offering specially tailored packages of information — clients include Lucas, Weber Carburettors, the AA and recently the RAC — was also represented on the stand. Germany's leading motoring organisation, the ADAC, is using its third edition of a patrolman's handbook produced by NTS.
