• Avon North Magistrates have adjourned a series of charges alleging conspiracy to falsify tachograph charts by Ferris Holidays, its accountant and 26 of its drivers, after deciding that the allegations wen so serious that they ought to be dealt with by judge and jun at Crown Court.

Ray Ferris, trading as Ferri; Holidays, of Commercial Street, Senghenydd, MidGlamorgan; Elisabeth Kelly, ol Radyr Cheyne, Llandaff, Cardiff; and the drivers are all accused of conspiring together and with others to make false entries in tachograph charts. The drivers are also accused making false entries.

The magistrates have adjourned the hearing until 31 January, when it is expected that committal proceedings will take place.
