• A rival for the Lynx, the PR100.2 from Renault Truck Industries and Northern Counties, was launched at the NEC.
The 51/53-seater semiintegral fare stage bus is built on the first purpose bus chassis from Renault and bodied by Northern Counties. It has a Renault MIPS 06.20.45 sixcylinder turbocharged Corebus engine with three power ratings — 129kW, 144kW, 176kW. There is also a variety of gearbox options.
The front suspension is an independent wishbone with coil springs and airbags, while the rear suspension is leaf sprung with dual air bags. Shock absorbers and anti-roll bars are fitted to the front.
Other features include an integral frame of box section corrosion-resistant tube, ZF power-assisted worm and nut steering and large-capacity car brakes with automatic adjustment.
The P100.2 is already in se: vice in France, Australia, Germany and Spain.
Northern Counties has reck signed its double-decker coach work. The new body style has a revamped front end with nes dome, concealed wipers and new grille and headlamp clusters. This Leyland Olympian, with a low bridge form, is the latest example and is one of 2! ordered by Yorkshire Rider.
