• The first twin-steer Seddon ktkinson Strato tractive units :ould break cover as early as lext May at Tipcon, or soon ifter at the 1989 IRTE Show.
The Oldham truck manufac:urer has confirmed that plans or launching the 6x2 Strato ire well advanced and that it nay use the occasion of the win-steer launch to also reveal new engine option on the 3trato, which is currently only sold with either 10, or 14-litre 7..,titrunins power units.
While few details are availible on the planned new engine vtion, Seddon Atkinson has :onfirmed that it will be a ver;ion of the 12-litre Perkins Eagle, believed to be under levelopment, called the Eagle 11340. Seddon has yet to car-37 evaluation trials with an Eagle-engined Strato.
The company says that "for lie moment" it is not looking d fitting the latest Cummins E365 engine, revealed by ERF m its stand at the Birmingham Vlotor Show.
