ECONOMIC RECOVERY will expose a lack of parking facilities at motorway service areas, the Freight Transport Association has warned the Government.
It said this when it published the results of a survey by its planning department of the facilities available at the existing service areas, and urged the Department of Transport to investigate the likely demand for additional parking space and seek EEC funds for their further development.
According to the FTA, some service areas have been saved from bursting at their seams only because the recession has diminished freight traffic. Economic recovery will cause problems.
