Company chiefs announced that the Southampton operations would end on November 3 when the daily freight-only services to Le Havre would be transferred.
The ro-ro ferry Viking Trader will join the company's other mixed-traffic ferries already operating from Portsmouth's rapidly expanding continental Ferry Port to both Le Havre and Cherbourg.
The final step of the Townsend Thoresen transfer will leave P&O Normandy Ferries as the only cross-Channel service operating between Southampton and France.
