Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A WEST GERMAN driver was fined about £2,000 by a court in the Ruhr this month after police discovered he had been working for 50 hours and had spent the previous 30 hours non-stop at the wheel.

The driver's marathon shift was discovered when he fell asleep at the wheel of his 32.5tonne vehicle and overturned on a grass verge — causing no injuries — at Burgsteinfurt, near Dusseldorf.

Examination of the tachograph showed he had made six round trips of 200 miles collecting potatoes and delivering them to a store-chain in the Ruhr.

His employers were also fined around £2,000.
