WINCANTON Chilled Distribution has won its first radial distribution contract by taking over the Southern England fleet of Dalgety Meat Products.
Although the company has some experience of primary distribution contracts to major distribution outlets, the Dalgety contract is the first radial contract, a field in which Wincanton Transport is already well established.
In total, 29 vehicles will be operated on the Dalgety contract, from its base at Blisworth, Northamptonshire, and from Reading. Wincanton is handling all maintenance.
PICKFORDS REMOVALS is buying 89 Bedford TLs for its 85 per cent Bedford fleet. The £1.6m order is for 70 TL1630 16-tonners, 14 TL860 7.5-tonners and five TL1260 12.35-tonners. All will be supplied by Arlington Motor Company.
