AMONG sections of the Road Traffic Act to come into effect on November 8 under an Order now published is No. 7. This exempts from driving disqualification or licence endorsement a person convicted of an offence of using or causing or permitting a vehicle to be used on a road in contravention of the Construction and Use Regulations if he proves that he did not know and had no reasonable cause to suspect that the facts were such that an offence would be committed.

The Order (SI 1967 No. 1474 (C.27) also makes effective, from November 8, sections 3 (examiners' powers), 5 (local authority testing stations), 6 (punishments for C and U infringements) and 8 (extending international traffic enactments).
