THE Industrial Transport Association Congress which was due to be held in Edinburgh on 13, 14 and 15 November has been cancelled. This decision was made by the association's national council in Birmingham last Saturday. Many delegates who had previously indicated their intention to attend the conference were withdrawing.
The reasons: the present economic situation and the effects of the rail and port disputes at London and Liverpool. It was understood that the resulting build-up of traffic had created problems for many who were to attend and that the delegates now considered they could not be absent from their places of business for the necessary three days.
