Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WITH the exception of detail modifications which constitute useful improvements, the range of vehicles marketed by Sbefliex Motors, Ltd., Tinsley, Sheffield, will continue as heretofore. In brief, the models are the DL 2-tanner, the DH 21-tonner, the DLO trailing-axle six-wheeler for 31-4-ton loads and the DH6 41-5-ton chassis, also a three-axle ,machine with two driven wheels.

As regards the constructional features of the six-wheelers the most important

change is in the six-wheelers, of the brake operating mechanism. From the l!vIarelli vacuum servo the pull rod runs to a cross-shaft. At this point compensating beams are employed, so as to equalize the pull taken to the brakes of the live axle and of the trailing axle. The leverages are so schemed that the brakes in the drums on the third axle come into action slightly in advance Of those on the live axle, thereby tend

lug to keep constant, during deceleration, the wheelbase of the bogie.

The brakes themselves are considerably larger than before. All four drums are of 16-in, diameter, and the width of the shoes has been increased to 2i ins.,

this dimension applying equally to the hand-operated and foot-operated set in each drum. It should be noted that this braking system fully complies with M. of T. requirements in this respect. The new drums are in ribbed cast steel.
