All 1031 applications received by the Southern Scotland Commissioners have now been listed in the Notices and Proceedings. The sitting to be held in the first week of December will be devoted to any outstanding cases, and details of these will be published later. A large number of decisions is announced in Gazette No. 25.

Some municipal and other representations will be made when stage-carriage applications of United Automobile Services, Ltd., are beard on November 3rd.

As regards Yorkshire, the sitting at Leeds to-day takes the form of d public inquiry into Leeds Corporation's application to 0...un vehicles between Burley in -Wharfedale and Ilkley. Gazette 27 announces the refusal of a backing for the London-Sheffield service of Premier Coaches and Garage, Ltd.

The date for the hearing of Widnes Corporation applications by the NorthWestern Commissioners is not yet decided. There is •a large amount of opposition to excursion applications shortly to be heard in this area.

The Eastern Commissioners have a comparatively easy list arranged for their Cambridge sitting, until we come to the applications allocated to Novern her 5th. Green Line Coaches, Ltd., then will face the independent operators and the railways in connection with its London-Home Counties services, and the hearing of these cases is likely to be interesting.

Southern Area Gazette 31 announces, with other decisions, the refusal of licences to Elliott Bros. (Bournemouth); Ltd., for services linking Bournemouth with Derby and Birmingham, • and Southsea and Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby, also the refusal of a licence for the Windsor-Maidenhead service of Premier Line, Ltd., and of a licence for the Birmingham-Banbury stage-carriage route of the "Midland Red" concern.

South-Eastern applications for hearing. up to November 6th have now been listed. More London-coastal routes come up for consideration to-day, Valliant Coaches, Ltd., Chiswick, having plenty of objection to fight. Tourist Motor Coaches, Ltd., appears on October 30th in connection with various such services.

The Metropolitan Commissioner will consider Green Line applications on November 2nd, and there will be opposition by the railways, Aldershot and District Traction Co., Ltd., and other operators. There are a lot more services to the racing tracks, etc., to be heard on November 3rd, with the L.G.O. Co., Ltd., as a persistent objector to the " creaming " of traffic it does its best to accommodate.
