Problem with port pea

Paul Davey, corporate manager at Felixstowe Port, the 40-minute turnaround time is only a target but o the actual average is currently 44 minutes.

'We monitor it on a daily basis, from gate-in to out. It's a true average." He denies that this averag into account any other movements at the dock.

Davey says the port tries desperately to meet tl demand, but the huge afternoon peak in traffic mai an impossible task.

"The trouble is no business can man and hand peak. We would never make any money" He agreE solution lies with the "thousands of receivers of car around the country who are the only ones who coul affect the times duvet's turn up.

But Davey disagrees that drivers should have catering facilities on the THA. He says il would be a defeating exercise because there would be no inc,( to leave the area. He says the THA should be Just tf temporary But he fails to acknowledge the reality is anything but.
