LORRY TRAFFIC through the port of Dover was up by 21 per cent during the first 10 months of 1982 compared with the same period last year.

A total of 504,000 commercial road haulage units (tractive unit and trailer count as two units) passed through the port compared with 418,000 for the first ten months last year.

For October, 56,000 commercial road haulage units came through the port, compared with 50,000 for October 1981.
