Provincial Cab Chassis. Light Load Chassis and 14-seater Coach.
STAND No. 115.
TTNIC MOTORS have, of course, 11---1 been known for many years for their London taxicabs, and this year are exhibiting a standard cab and a cab chassis. In addition, a new chassis is shown, known as the Provincial cab type. This follows the lines of the London cab chassis very closely, but more power is obtained from the engine, as the bore has been increased from 75 mm. to 80 mm. The transmisMon and springing are just the same as on the `'sonclon cab. These vehicles are fitted with the new Michelin Cable tyres, which have composition treads composed or rueuer and steel studs. Three other models are shown on this stand, these being a 1-ton ,chassis, 30-cwt. chassis, and a 14-seater motor coach, mounted on a _ 30-cwt. chassis. The j-tonner is fitted with a fourcylinder engine, cone clutch and four
speed gearbox, the drive between the two last-named components being transmitted by a short universally jointed shaft. An open propeller shaft is used, the torque and driving strains being taken through the long semi-elliptic springs. The rear-wheel brakes are of the internal-expanding type and are operated by the hand lever, the pedal controlling a transmission brake placed behind the gearbox. The 30-cwt. chassis follows the lines of the 1-tonner in all the leading particulars, although the dimensions of the engine are, of course, larger. Both these lorries are shown mounted on pneumatic tyres, twin tyres being used for the rear wheels of the 30-et. type.
The 14-seater coach is fitted with onepiece transverse seats placed in four rows, each being of ample width to hold four people, with the exception of the front row, which is intended to accommodate two passengers in addition to the driver. A. hood is provided, which protects alt the seats and can be very easily raised and lowered. There is a windscreen and glass panel in front .of the driver, and two hinged flaps mounted on the windscreen pillars intercept side draughts.
