A Range of Twelve Vehicles of Different Types for Many Purposes.
STAND No. 93.
riims famous French concern, which 1 produces read vehicles of all types, is notable for adhering to the sloping' bonnet with the radiator placed behind it. With the designs now adopted, one cannot say that the appearance of the vehicle is in any way spoilt by this type of bonnet, and, of course, a very real advantage lies in the fact that the radiator, which is one of the most delicate parts of the modern lorry, is in a far more protected position. The exhibit is remarkably complete, no fewer than 12 vehicles being shown. The 8.3 h.p. 5-evit. chassis is shown in two forms, these being a box van and a tradesman's van. The latter is neatly finished in dark blue and black. Four examples of the 13.9 h.p. model are shown, one of
• these being suitable for 10-cwt. loads and the other three being capable each of carrying 15 cwt. The other models are a fire-engine, which should be unusually fast, a bare chassis mounted on ,Michelin pneumatic tyres, a box van and a tradesman's van. The tradesman's van is provided with a tip-up seat in the front compartment, next to the driver. By lifting this seat access is obtained to the body through a weather-proof curtain.
The 17.9 h.p. 30-cwt. chassis makes a. fine exhibit, with a 14-seater char-a.banes body fittedThere is' also a 20seater mqtor coach, mounted on a chassis with a similar engine but suitable for carrying loads up 'to 2 tons. Each of these vehicles is fitted with a folding hood and side curtains with celluloid
panels. On the 14-seater two doors, placed at each side near the front, give access to a gangway running between the seats. On the larger coach five doors are provided at the near side. The 24.8 h.p. model appears in two forms, being shown as a chassis with a. capacity of 3 tons and with a forward dash, and as a chassis capable of carrying loads up to 4 tons.
Two large and imposing exhibits are formed by a 5-ton Renault tipping wagon and the 10-ton tractor-trailer. r:ach of these is equipped with a 24.8 h.p. engine. The tipping wagon is fitted with a double-ram hydraulic gear, and the body is constructed entirely of steel with a hinged tailboard.
This tractor-trailer is also equipped with a four-cylinder 24.8 h.p. engine and the overall length of the complete vehicle is 31 ft. 5 ins. Only two of the Renault exhibits are fitted with solid tyres.
