POLICEARE HUNTING a gang who kidnapped a truck driver in Cheshire before stealing thousands of pounds worth of bacon from his trailer. The driver's ordeal began at around 5am last Monday (18 May) after he stopped at Chesford Grange in Warrington. He woke up to find five men breaking into his cab. They restrained him and drove his truck for about 45 minutes before transferring him into
another vehicle and later releasing him in Moss Lane, Warrington.
A spokesmanfor Cheshire police says: "The truck is blue with red around the wheelarches and Fruit Haulage written across the top. It was later found burnt out minus its load in Swinton. We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen it to come forward."
