Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Crushing used oil fitters can generate sizeable reductions in waste disposal costs, says waste management specialist Orwak Linley, which produces a

purpose-designed electrohydraulic compactor specifically for this job.

By expelling up to 98% of the retained oil, this machine converts the used filters from notifiable special waste into simple scrap metal.

Used filters are traditionally stored in 205-litre drums. Orwak says that the disposal cost for these works out at mere than El per unit: crushing filters and disposing of them in a scrap metal skip cuts this dramatically.

The compactors can be rented; they are operated from a standard 13-amp supply.

The hydraulic platen exerts a 15-tonne force to remove most of the used oil, which is piped away into a plastic container for separate disposal. rx.ntar,t: 01202 665177.
