Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

After reading the article Animal Carriage Alert (CV/1-7 April), I would like to thank you for highlighting the problem of cruelty to livestock in transit.

I felt the story was to the point and may well influence livestock hauliers to handle their stock more carefully in future.

I am not an animal rights nutcase but I do write to MPs to tell them about clear evidence, produced by the RSPCA, of cruelty

My main area of concern is transport of live animals within Europe. As Jam sure you are aware, these animals are enduring journey times of up to 60 hours in horrific conditions.

The point of my letter is to thank you because I believe the way to stop this cruelty is for people like yourselves to publicise the shortcomings in our legal system and the way that it is enforced. Like any other profession there are good hauliers and bad. Rachel Mutimer 13urr St Edmunds, Suffolk
