5 here seems to be a trend for office wallahs to get their hands dirty First we had Swansea council's chief engineer Ifon Jones putting in a shift with the binznen to raise money for a childrens charity (well done, by the way). And now two civil servants from the vehicles division of the DTi have spent a day working on the Rover production line at Longbridge.
The idea is for DTi penpushers to gain some handson experience of vehicle manufacture. Trade and Industry Secretary Michael "El Presidente" Heseltine says: "My officials will have a better insight into the everyday life of the companies we deal with if they have the chance to talk face to face with a wide range of workers and actually get their hands dirty...the initiative is fully supported throughout the vehicles division.! am sure they will find the experience both
interesting and useful I'm sure the lads on th will be only too please put in a bit of face-to-I talk ing with their tern workmates.
Always one to lead the front, no doubt Ta will be anxious to foil' Hauliers who could temporary driver can him do the DTi, Victc Street, London SW1. Presumably Hezzer w happy to work for TG rates?
