• Iveco Ford plans to convert more Leyland Daf dealers before the troubled manufacturer's truck plant is sold.
A prominent Leyland Daf dealer confirms that it is negotiating with "another leading manufacturer". The Blaydon, lYne & Wear outlet is owned by the same parent as Billingharn-based North East Truck & Van, which recently became an Ivan Ford
franchisee. Enfield-based Arlington Motor Company has already switched to Ivea) Ford (CM 20 May). In response Leyland Daf is talking to dealers who are "very interested" in raking up the North-East franchise.
Mike Adams, chairman of the Leyland Daf Dealer Association, believes lveco Ford is actively poaching LD dealers and sales staff, He does not know of any other dealers who are negotiating with the rival manufacturer.
