Bridge durir the Whitsun weekend hal been announced by Transpo Minister William Rodgers as they mean that only coach, and goods vehicles under cwt will be allowed on ti bridge.
Under the rules there is weight restriction for coach but goods vehicles over 30ci must take an alternative rou via M5 at Strensham, ME A449, and A40 and A449 rejoin M4 near Newport. T route avoids Gloucester whe congestion is likely.
At present the bridge under repair and in norm cirumstances while the repai are being done it is closed vehicles over 32 tons gvw ai only one lane is open in ea' direction.
But in order to cut dov congestion both lanes will open to traffic in each dirc tion.
The new restriction will in force from 2pm to 8prn Ju 3; 10am to 8pm June 4 f westbound traffic and frc 10am to 8pm June 6 and 7 1 eastbound traffic.
All traffic using the brid has been advised to take alternative route; alternati routes are being signposted requested by the Freig Transport Association.
