Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NEW range of all-light-alloy bodies for Morris chassis has been introduced by Stewart and Ardern Ltd. These comprise box and Luton vans for FG Series models, and there are light-alloy dropside truck bodies for the J4 10/12 cwt. and J2 16/18 cwt. models.

To keep costs down the aim in the design of the new models has been to satisfy the maximum number of operating requirements with a simple basic design, and production alternatives have been kept to a minimum.

On the box and Luton vans the internal height and width dimensions are identical, but the body length can be adjusted to suit 30 cwt., 2-ton, 3-ton and 5-ton FG chassis. The body sides can be in either plain or ribbed light-alloy sheet, but in all cases the front of the bodywork is in plain sheet.

All framing members are in light-alloy, as are the floor support cross-bearers, but the floor itself is of 0.875 in. softwood. There are four alternative rear closures: full height and width double-doors, full-width doubledoors and tailboard, full height and width light-alloy roller shutter. full-width alloy shutter and tailboard.

The interior height and width dimensions are each 7 ft. in all cases and one wheelbase version only of each of the FG models quoted is catered for—the 9 ft. 6 in.-wheelbase 30 cwt., the 10 ft. 9 in.-wheelbase 2-tonner.

the 12 ft. 1 in.-wheelbase 3-tonner and the 30 ft. 4 in.-wheelbase 5-tonner.

The interior lengths are 10 ft. 6 in., 12 ft. 6 in., 14 ft. 6 in. and 16 ft. 6 in., with internal capacities of 500, 600, 700 and 800 cu. ft. respectively. A Luton head increases the capacity by 75 Cu. ft., and the cost of a Luton van body in plain sheet is £455, £485, £530 and £575 respectively.

The two dropside bodies for the J4 and J2 vary in length because the wheelbases of these two models are different. The interior widths also vary, being 5 ft. 4.5 in. for the J4 model and 5 ft. 8.5 in. for that on the J2. The height of the sides in both cases is 1 ft. 3 in. and the bodies are made of light-alloy on hardwood cross-bearers and the floor is of 0.875 in. softwood. The cost of these bodies is £105 for that on the J4 and £135 for the J2.
