Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Thicker Coats with Epoxide Paint

SOLVENT-THINNED epoxide paints are used extensively to protect metal surfaces from corrosion. A disadvantage of these materials is that the paint coating achieved is thin and several coats are required to provide resistance to mechanical damage.

Bakelite, Ltd., 12-18 Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1, has developed a liquid epoxide resin and hardener system which dispenses with solvents and therefore allows single-paint coats up to 0.015 in thick to be applied.

This eliminates the need for multiple coating whilst the hardener cures the resin under widely varying conditions of humidity and temperature.

Bottle Stand ALIGHT and simple stand for holding upright round-bottomed welding gas battles is III anufa ct u r ed by Argosy Tubular Products, Ltd., Hertford Road, Barking, Essex. It costs £2 18s. 6d. and

consists of a welded-steel tubular frame having a circular base 1 ft. 9-1 in. in diameter.

The lower cradle, in which the bottom of the bottle locates, is 4 in. from the ground and is surmounted by an upper retaining ring attached to two 2-ft. 1-in.long upright members. A section of this ring is hinged to allow the bottle to be placed in it from the side. Thus, the bottle has to be raised only 4 in. to place it in the stand and can then be rolled about on the circular base.

Fast Lapper AN electrically driven twin-spindle machine for lapping injector nozzle seats during reconditioning is 'offered by the Interchangeable Tool Co., 255 Rossendale Road, Burnley, Lancs. At present the work is normally carried out by hand and depends for its success on the skill of the operator in adjusting the pressure applied to the lapping tool.

The Autolap, as it is known, eleminates the need for skill as the loading on the tool is pre-set and constant. It is claimed that use of the lapping machine can increase productivity by at least 20 per cent, over manual methods whilst giving consistent and predictable results.

The tool will accommodate a wide range of nozzle types with the standard holding blocks and adaptors provided.
