THE placing of the Mann Egerton crane relative to the 11-ft. 6-in, wheelbase of a new Thames Trader breakdown tender enables a 5-ton lift to be made without any tendency for the front wheels to rise. Wood and Lambert, Ltd., 49 Stamford Hill, London N.16, constructed the vehicle for themselves.
The crane is mounted on a sub-frame Which extends to the rear to incorporate towing gear. There is a window in the bulkhead and another in each side through which the driver can see when reversing. The shapely, body Wends into the lines of the Trader bonnet and cab. The lettering display is outstanding.
